why signwriting in 21st century

Hoi,
It is as easy to record Dutch or English with a camera as it is to record a
sign language. I doubt that the people who have learned to write either
language would want to do away with it..

One great reason why learning SignWriting is so relevant, is that kids who
learn SW first do better at school. With the proper representation of the
language that SignWriting enables, it is possible to register the culture
that is particular to the signing community. In this way the history of the
signing worlds will be written by the people who are part of these
communities. In order to learn to write a sign language, you first have to
learn to sign and once someone has learned enough to write about the culture
of the signing people, he or she will have become part of it.
