Found it - rotation versus flexing.

Here is the same movement as in WOW with one hand facing the reader. The palm of the A hand faces the reader the whole time for AEROBICS, just like in DANCE.  It is a rotation, not a wrist flex.  In WOW the hand starts at the 90 degree point, not the 180 point, but the theory is the same. 

We've been using this movement for YEARS with dance, but didn't think to apply it to two hands rotating from a 90 degree angle.

The rotation may not be as far as a complete reversal (if I hold my wrist there is a difference, one is only a 45 degree angle) but I can still see the back of my wrist if I don't watch the hands.
