question on sign notation /small movments

I guess at first glance this, to me, does not look, regardless of the split off fingers, like parallel to the chest.  Because of the split hand, at a quick glance it looks like the hands are face down.

No. We just write it smaller. As Charles said, the writing system  
written by hand has no problem with this...it is only my ISWA set of  
symbols in the computer that is lacking all the handwritten  
variations...

You could choose small curved arrows instead of circles..it looks  
circular..
