The two are the same in how they are read, but (B) is written correctly. They both read with the right hand moves up-forward-down-back and the left hand moves down-back-up-forward. The reason (A) isn't correct is because the right arrow isn't rotated right because the thick part isn't one the outside.

Hello Adam,
Thank you for your answer.
BIKE (A)
You will see a diagram above (BIKE (A)). You mean that the right hand moves up-forward-down-back and the left hand moves down-back-up-forward.
You will see a diagram below (BIKE (B)). You mean that the right hand moves up-forward-down-back and the left hand moves up-back-down-forward.
BIKE (B)
Am I right?
Regards,
André

Hello André,
You read the diagram that you attached correctly. The left hand would move up-back-down-forward and the right would move up-forward-back-down. I don't know about you, but I have a very hard time doing that. Ha! So to make it so that the arrows follow how I move my hands when I sign BIKE, I would rotate the left arrow so that it would read down-back-up-forward. I hope that this help you. You can look in SignPuddle for how BIKE is written by clicking on this link. Bike in US SignPuddle

Hi Val and everyone,
You will see the diagram below (BIKE). The right arrowhead moves up-forward-down-back two times while the left arrowhead moves down-back-up-forward two times. But, Stefan gave the two signs (SIGN or BIKE). You will see the attached diagram. The right arrowhead moves up-forward-down-back two times while the left arrowhead moves up-back-down-forward. Two times.
I would like to ask Adam or Stuart. Is the sign "BIKE" a diagram below or Stefan's diagram? Because I need to understand what the right and left arrowheads move.
BIKE

André

Hi Valerie and sw-list,
preparing some new worksheets for my students I happened to realize that there are many different options to write the movement we need in Germany for the signs of sign or bike ...
Do you prefer any of these as kind of "best Gestalt"?
I know it is a matter of feeling – but perhaps of experience as well ... just curious ...
All the best Stefan ;-)
