Handwriting: Shading

Val,
I see you do shading as two diagonal strokes. I've been doing the same
thing after trying scribbling quickly and then trying a single diagonal
stroke.
I now use two diagonal strokes for _all_ shading: palm fills,
arrowheads, and even the thick parts of curved strokes. Does this make
sense?
