Very interesting that you would make that observation. :-) There could be a couple things at play. First, I am in the west, so by default I know those states better and know more deafies close by. Second, it has been said that the east is more oral and english than the west. I don't know if that is true, but by the state sign I gathered from the east it could be thought so. ;-)
