Hello Charles and Everyone!
This is an amazing accounting, Charles...What a lot of work you have
done!

This conference is projected to be in the Fall of 2009 or 2010? There
is time, that is good.

People can take care of their own travel expenses and hotels...at
least that is my feeling any way. If you just total the costs of the
actual facilities at Gallaudet, that is all that matters...I hope you
don't have to commit to anything real soon...what is the deadline for
commitment to Gallaudet?

And thank you for thinking of my traveling costs or housing costs...As
you know, I haven't traveled for over a decade, because of health
reasons. It has been 10 years since I have traveled from the southern
California area. Maybe if my health is good enough at the time I can
consider it...I cannot make any promises...

If I do travel to the conference, I will pay for my traveling expenses
and hotel privately...so that will not be a burden on the conference
costs. I might be able to stay with family in Washington DC...

I could address the conference anyway, through technology, so it could
still be one-on-one and live in some way...I could plan to do Skype
conferencing with each person at the conference too...so there are
many ways to travel today without leaving home!

Right now anyone can call me on Skype and we can meet, and learn
SignWriting together, face to face...no traveling required. Just write
to ask for an appointment...

Do you really think you need 6 rooms?...There is no harm in keeping it
small. If you start a call for papers, that might help to see how many
people are really planning to attend...Some conferences lose money, if
they do not have enough people to attend to cover the costs, so if you
could have a call for papers, you will find out how many people are
planning to come...75 participants would be great for a new conference!

And the Center for Sutton Movement Writing will pay for the
interpreters, including the tactile interpreting needed for Andre and
any other Deaf-Blind or Blind participants...

I look forward to hearing more...keep us informed...

Val ;-)
