Hi Valerie and sw-listers,

L.I.F.E.

thanks for this interesting discussion –

Just for fun I created some funny finger-gymnastic- exercises – smile

but then I understood that this last handshape is missing?? Or perhaps I
cannot find it?

Can you understand? Any suggestion how to construct this handshape ( pinky
an thumb contact) all fingers streched ...

Have fun

Stefan ;-)

Hello Kelly Jo!

Thanks for this question, and you are right that is an unusual situation.

Here is a screen capture of two of my attempts...One places the Touch and
Hinge Movement under the Circle base for the handshape, which I would hope
shows that the fingers that are creating the Circle base, namely the Ring
and Thumb, are the ones doing the movement...I don't think that looks like
touching the chest...but if you are worried about that, you could write just
the Hinge Movement under the 7-Hand and take away the contact completely...

The second one uses another version of the 7 Handshape...one with stretched
fingers, which then gives you the space to put in the Hinge Movement...in
that one, the Touch contact is not necessary...because the Hinge movement is
supposed to be on the end position of the sign, or the "position of contact"
which it is...

I'm having a problem with another sign in Snow White. When Darline signs
"7" for the first time, she touches the ring finger to the thumb three
times. How do I write that? Using the "touch" symbol makes it look like the
sign is touching the chest. My other thought was that, technically, it
could be a hinge movement, but there's not enough room to place the hinge
symbol so that it doesn't look like one or more of the other fingers are
wiggling, especially if I need to place three of them. I'm stumped!
