SignWriting List
October 21, 2008
Hello Mohamed and Adam!
I opened my email box this morning, to find such amazing messages from
so many good friends. My heart is filled with gratitude...
THANK YOU to you all!
Mohamed - THANK YOU for expressing these words below...which touched
me deeply. Your writing of Saudi Arabian and Jordanian Sign Languages,
and your gift of important research in Deaf Education is contributing
to the success of SignWriting...giving us proof that it is a real
writing system that has value for Deaf students...Your research has
come just at a time when it is greatly needed, and congratulations on
accomplishing this. We are so blessed to have met you and to continue
to work with you...
And Adam - THANK YOU for your skilled writing of ASL, the editing of
Cat in the Hat and other documents, the signing and writing of your
own articles in ASL like "Why SignWriting?", your animated GIFs of
handshapes and palm facing, which are so terrific, and your support of
using SignWriting in the Deaf Community at a time when it was not that
popular...Your web site is also a first, including SignWriting
throughout...You help us sooo much everyday...
So you can see that the ISWA could not exist without this kind of team
work...
I will print your messages and read them when I need to remember how
blessed we are!
Val ;-)
