Understanding a sign

Fun to see all the writings. Is the movement really traveling parallel
to the floor? The single stemmed curved arrow means that the arm
really travels parallel to the floor in a forward curve...
I realize that the Rub symbol means it stays on the surface...I
wonder, if you paint the direction of the curve based on the end of
the fingertips, isn't the curve parallel to the wall? Val ;-)
