Hi Ron,
The PersonalPuddle will work on Linux. You'll need to install apache2
with PHP and the GD graphics library. Then copy files from the
PersonalPuddle.
On the linux machine, open a browser window and enter the url
"http://localhost". If a page opens, you already have apache, so skip
to step 2.
Open a terminal window and enter the following commands. You'll need
the root password.
1) sudo apt-get install apache2
2) sudo apt-get install php5-gd
Next you need to know where to install the PersonalPuddle files. They
go in the DocumentRoot directory. Mine is /var/www, yours may vary.
You may need to check the "/etc/apache2/sites-available" directory.
There should a file called "default" that will contains the DocumentRoot
variable.
Once you find the DocumentRoot, you can delete all of the files there or
you can create a new subdirectory called "personalpuddle".
Next you'll need to copy the PersonalPuddle files from "udrive/www" to
the DocumentRoot.
Finally, open a browser with the URL "http://localhost" or
"http://localhost/personalpuddle" if you used a subdirectory. If the
sign graphics don't appear, you may need to restart apache, or simply
reboot the machine.
To find directions online, you can search for "ubuntu install apache2
php gd". That should help you along.
Good luck,
-Steve
