SignWriting List
October 28, 2010

Hello Erika!
Thank you for all this information...I am enjoying trying to digest it all - the link to your dissertation goes to a summary without any mention of SignWriting, and I would need to order a copy of your dissertation, however, there is a Preview link on that web page, which gave around the first 17 pages of your dissertation and I can see you mentioned James Shepard Kegl's work, and my work and so forth - thank you for this link. I will order a copy of your dissertation for sure...

The other publication which you attached was interesting - This was written by others, and they showed some writing with Labanotation - I couldn't even find their mention of SignWriting yet, good or bad - ha! But that is ok. If they mentioned SignWriting, which I am sure they did, I just have to find the mention in the article, then they are forgiven if they do not understand its value and difference with Laban's work - there is a huge difference between our systems and that would be a dissertation in its own right!

OK. I am trying, Jessie, to finish a web page listing some of the many publications on SignWriting in a bibliographic style, and will have to post this later today ...thanks for your patience...

And I hope others will feel free to tell us about your research too - the more the better -

Val ;-)

We have been assigned a research project, and need to find academic and professional articles that have been published about our topic, in this case Valerie Sutton and SignWriting. I am having trouble because the only sources I can find are Wikipedia andsignwriting.org. I need to find books or articles that have been published. I have read almost everything on signwriting.org, but I cannot use this as a source for my project.
