SignWriting List
September 10, 2010

Hello Bill -
Your answer here helped me a lot. I can see it is a real job to set Moodle up, and our tiny three-person staff (me, Steve Slevinski and Adam Frost) are not able to work on anything new right now. Steve is completing the new SignPuddle 2.0, and Adam and I are trying to complete our new textbook "SignWriting Hand Symbols" which will be 300 pages and we are not finished ;-)...the hand symbol work also includes the animated GIFs of all the hand symbols that Adam has created and is available online to everyone:

ISWA 2010 Symbol Lessons (animated Gifs)

So setting up courses through Moodle, for our organization anyway, is not possible at this moment - but I will keep it in mind for the future - if there is another organization using SignWriting that would like to setup their own courses using Moodle, I will be happy to help them with the SignWriting instruction part of it, but they will have to take the project onto their own server...that would be wonderful if another group would like to do that, and I would be happy to help where I can...

As always your help is invaluable - thank you Bill!

Val ;-)

To set up the server there may be some programming involved, however, there are many pre-made themes that could possibly be easily adapted.

Several classes can be offered at the same time and the students would sign up for whatever class they desire. There are different ways it can be setup with free and commercial themes.
