SignWriting List
October 9, 2011

Hello Jonathan, Andre and the SignWriting List!

I want you all to know that I just had a great Skype conversation with Andre from Quebec, with his interpreter. It was a fun experience ;-)

Andre showed me his computer screen, using SignWriter Studio.

Jonathan - I am having a better experience when I use SignWriter Studio, than Andre is having. I am using Windows 7 Home version, and Andre is using Windows XP.

When I highlight a sign and double-click on it, in the Dictionary, the sign opens up into a new window called The SignWriter Editor window, and I can change the sign and look at all the symbols in the ISWA and so forth.

But when Andre double-clicks on a highlighted sign, he instead gets an error message saying that the program is blocked from opening the offending file- I am not sure of the exact message but Andre showed it to me with the computer screen close up to the video window in Skype, and it was certainly not the Editor window - it was an error message window -

Can you help Andre? He downloaded the latest -

Val ;-)

That will work best for me and I will write to you privately to setup a time so we can meet on Skype - thank you so much for your hard work on SignWriter Studio -

From the menu select "Open SignWriter Studio File". Look in the folder you installed the software. Choose the file Sample.SWS. Then you shouldn't have any problems trying out the dictionary. If you double click on a sign writting you will get the SignWriter Editor.
