Difference between symbols

I, personally, could use them interchangeably, but to me, they feel like movement up and over toward the center line or away from the center line of the body.
Example, alguma (other) in ASL, the hand goes up and over and if one is signing with the right hand, then the "feel" is the second one. If one is signing "key" then because the right hand is moving against the left hand, I'd tend to use the one on the left.
