SignWriting List
May 29, 2012
Hello Madson, Raquel, and SignWriting List members...
Congratulations and a big thank you, for your hard work on these new accomplishments… And thank you for posting this message, Madson, to tell us about your new work in Brazil.
I am enjoying reading some of your messages on Facebook…
It seems that more and more people are using Facebook to discuss SignWriting, which is of course good, but it also means that SignWriting users have many places now, to receive information, rather than this one SignWriting List. So posting information to multiple places on the internet becomes necessary. Thank you for posting here. Posting on the SignWriting List is important because of our historic archives. Every message is recorded and accessible for history...
On Facebook, in the SignWriting in Brasil list, I have read your postings, Madson. I am excited that you are presenting workshops on SignWriting, and I viewed some of the charming videos signed in LIBRAS by Raquel. They are good videos and I am particularly in love with Raquel's beautiful presentation. We are happy that Adam's photos of his hands are useful to you too - and your card game looks like a lot of fun as well as educational.
You can view some of Raquel's videos on this web site:

I am so happy to learn about your new book teaching SignWriting! ….I look forward to reading and telling others about your new book… And it is wonderful that Marianne wrote the foreword… (Hello, Marriane ;-))
Please send a big "hello" from me, to all your workshop participants...
Val ;-)

The book has two chapters that present theoretical history of various writing systems or notations for sign languages, the history of SignWriting in Brazil and abroad, and also makes public the result of extensive research done in Brazil and other countries .

This story is not a translation of the Portuguese and was not built in video. It was written directly in SignWriting and has many deaf characters. It was really cool!
