For transcribing multiple parties, I like Valerie's concept for Dance Writing, giving them each a separate line. There isn't a standard transcription method for that, but it is a place to start. In transcribing an interpreter talking about multiple parties, you may want to check the history lesson on LeClerc that I transcribed for Lucinda Batch. That shows Paris and America in two different places by body shifts.

Hi Andre - I'm really interested in the possibilities you describe - how expressive and receptive (and other perspectives even) may be used to various effects in different genres! One thing I'm grappling with is what to do when transcribing multi-party interactions - your discussion about theater connects with some ideas I've been playing with.
I'll be continuing to ask for your advice and ideas!
