Hello SignWriting List,

thank you all for your feedback on the Signbook app. It is much appreciated.

We¹d love to support Android devices as well, but we cannot make any
promises just yet. I¹ll keep you posted on any news in this regard.

As there were requests for support of LSQ (Quebec Sign Language) and BSL
(British Sign Language), we have implemented these dictionaries. You are now
able to use the dictionaries from the Signbook app as well as from the
Delegs-Editor. If there is any demand for other sign languages, please let
us know. We will be more than happy to implement support for them as well.

As there was some confusion with the user interface language and the
preselected sign language in the Delegs-Editor, we have changed the default
sign languages for the different user interfaces. So when you now click on
the link with the Portuguese user interface, LIBRAS will be selected as sign
language by default. In the English version it is ASL, in the German version
DGS and so onŠ

Here are the links for the different user interfaces once again:

English User Interface

Brazilian Portuguese User Interface

German User Interface

Spanish User Interface
http://www.delegs.com/delegseditor/?locale=es

French User Interface
http://www.delegs.com/delegseditor/?locale=fr

Polish User Interface
http://www.delegs.com/delegseditor/?locale=pl

Valerie we will also consider your suggestion about the preselected
dictionary in the Signbook app for the next version.

Thanks again for the feedback. If you have any more feedback, please do not
hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
Lasse

SignWriting List

January 2, 2013

Hi Ron -

If you go to:

Signbook app for SignWriting

https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/signbook/id578623368?mt=8

It explains that it is designed for:

iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod
touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS
5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

So it appears it is only for Apple products right nowŠ

Any plans, Lasse, to support Android or other Smart Phones?

Val ;-)

Hello Valerie and everybody on the SignWriting-List,

First of all a happy new year 2013 to all of you :)

We are happy to announce the release of the first SignWriting app in Apple¹s
Appstore: Signbook.

With this app for the iPhone and iPad one can search the Delegs dictionaries
(which also include the corresponding SignPuddle dictionaries) of the
following sign languages: ASL, DGS, LSE, LIBRAS, PJM, LSF, LSFB. So at the
moment it is basically a portable SignWriting dictionary which you can carry
in your pocket and lookup a sign no matter where you are. We are planning on
adding further features in the future.

Here is the link to the app in the Appstore:

https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/signbook/id578623368?mt=8
<https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/signbook/id578623368?mt=8>

You can also find the app by searching for ³Signbook² in the Appstore.

To cover at least a part of our expenses we have to charge $1.99 for the
purchase of the app. But we think this is an affordable price for everybody.

Please try out the app, and do not hesitate to ask us questions or give us
feedback.

Best regards,

Lasse
