Hi Charles,

I look at the first sign ..

Well I do not know what should be done .. I did not read any description or
could not find any video... ;-(

Nevertheless .... it is almost impossible to perform this ... back of hands
toward the body moving down ???? ouch!

What do you think?

Stefan

Sign first - dystrophy. From your description, to show the fingers in the
position you want, I find the edge-on position the easiest to understand.
This has the palm from the side so the lower half is black with the upper
white. In addition, the description doesn't have the hands touch so they
need to have separate paths.

Sign second - your question was how to show movement forward while keeping
the hand in place, sort of like a hinge.

was backward. the thumb is the shorter hook. To show that the hand remains
in contact, use the pressure ~ mark. This holds the hand in place while it
rotates forward.

Here is an example from Brazilian sign language, the sign for jello
(gelatino) where the hand trembles.

4x26S15a16n18x64&pad=10&name=gelatina> Note that both hands are showed edge
on so that it doesn't get confusing for the reader. The top hand touches the
bottom hand, and presses on the bottom hand. There is movement but it is of
the fingers (the little arrows) the combination of * and ~ ensures that the
hands remain in contact and pressing.
