By symmetry I am presuming that you mean signs that have hands moving in related opposite directions.

(language - ASL)

(bacon - ASL)
(CL - tube)

as opposed to "right-hand" dominant where the "moving hand" is considered the dominant hand with the other hand being the base hand.

Thanks for your help, Charles. I need everyone's help!

So Melinda - there are wonderful people here on the List who can help you get your PowerPoint completed for your school -

I love PowerPoint and I plan to post some of our other teacher's PowerPoint presentations too, on the SignWriting site, so this is a great time to develop your PowerPoint -

I will learn with you…smile….

Val ;-)

It took reading her sentence several times think she may mean "arbitrary" or "iconic" signs. Because they are "iconic" they are contextual, meaning "not a dictionary entry" but simply a configuration that is being used in a particular sense, like the "three" hand being used for "vehicles" in several signs. I looked up "vehicle" and found these three signs that are used in that context. ABC poems use that concept all the time. SignWriting is based on writing what you see, NOT the meaning.
