I'm grateful you made it a footer. A couple of other
linguistic/language-realated lists I'm subscribe use headers and I have to
scroll half-way down the page before the actual content is visible.

Being "old school" and well just old I remember when emailers showed more
of the headers lines with a message than is done today. GMail only shows
sender and recipient, date and time, and Subject. Apple Mail gives slightly
more by default and the recipient can request more of those hidden lines to
be displayed. I checked the headers line on your email and the following
lines are included:

List-Help: <http://listserv.valenciacollege.edu/cgi-bin/wa?LIST=SW-L>,
 <mailto:LISTSERV at LISTSERV.VALENCIACOLLEGE.EDU?body=INFO%20SW-L>
List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:SW-L-unsubscribe-request at LISTSERV.VALENCIACOLLEGE.EDU>
List-Subscribe: <mailto:SW-L-subscribe-request at LISTSERV.VALENCIACOLLEGE.EDU>
List-Owner: <mailto:SW-L-request at LISTSERV.VALENCIACOLLEGE.EDU>
List-Archive: <http://listserv.valenciacollege.edu/cgi-bin/wa?LIST=SW-L>

But I had to get GMail to show me that by using the "Show Original" option.

I have access to archives. Not only the one mentioned in the standard
header or the one mentioned in your footer but the one that GMail keeps for
me–I don't delete messages from this list. There is a second archive on one
of my Linux machines when I was subscribed under a different email address.
There might even be some earlier messages stored on an ancient neglected
Windows 3.1 machine I used until 1999. ;-)
