need funding for captioning 32 hours of video

Basically what will need to be done is making a transcript of what is said. From there I can import the transcript and then add the timing for the captions to show up on YouTube.
If anyone wants to make a file with the time code for the captions, that would be great too. You can go to http://subtitle-horse.com/index.php to use a caption editor if you don’t have one. Just make sure you send me an SRT file so that I can import that into YouTube.
Of course, you will have to have the actual video that the captions will be on. There is the full 8 hour videos that can be used, but there will also be shorter videos that I need to do. I probably could take captions from the larger videos to put into the shorter videos, but I think it would be easier to do it from the shorter videos into the larger video. (If that makes sense. Ha!)
I’m sure that whatever people decide to do (a transcript, a caption of the larger videos, or a caption of the smaller videos) will be fine because it will help me along greatly. SMILE

And a good educational project for your students as well, because they will be learning the techniques of the technology, plus learning the information from the presentations they are captioning…It is a win-win kind of project…

Perhaps the editing and captioning is something I could get a group of middle school students to work on as a service learning project? I will also try to involve other teachers with ASL students and Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to join us. Contact me with details and I will work on grants and donations to make this happen over this school year!
