Hello Claudia!
Thank you for doing this research and for sharing your Abstract with us. Great topic for a paper and presentation - I really love this, Claudia.

SignSpellings are fascinating and their natural evolution could be compared to the natural evolution of spellings in the history of writing spoken languages, such as English spellings…There were different ways to spell English words for centuries - it took time before standards arose… and to this day there are differences in spellings in different countries that speak English… There are even three ways to write Braille in the world, I believe… (maybe I need to look this up…correct me if I am wrong).

The one difference though, is that SignWriting is evolving over the internet, and so we have a faster way to communicate which may speed the process a little, although it may not too - that is why your research is so important ;-)

Wow! That is such an appropriate conference - I never heard of this conference and I am really glad to know about it -

I hope someday we can meet, Claudia, in person, or at least on Skype...

On that side note…Steve, Adam and I are working on the preparations for the SignWriting Symposium 2014 which will be online. We plan to announce the official information here on the SignWriting List on February 28th, with a Call for Papers, and all the particulars…
