How interesting, Erika - I hope your student will share this new musical score, for oboe and facial expressions, with us - That sounds amazing -

On New Year’s Eve, on Public Broadcasting TV, here in the US, they presented a performance of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln Center in New York City, and the star of the evening was the famous cellist, Yo-Yo Ma (see http://video.pbs.org/video/2365138199/ ) and when I watched the program I remember thinking how beautifully expressive Yo-Yo Ma’s facial expressions were, while he performed - so I can see that those facial expressions could be meaningful, because seeing his expressions up close helped me enjoy the musical performance -

Val ;-)

He's interested whether/how the facial expressions of a performer on stage will affect how an audience perceives the sounds of the oboe :)
