Hi André, Adam, Valerie...

First of all – wow Adam – what a wonderfull lesson you posted before about
this subjekt! Great!

Now – I agree with the first horizontal pair –

I disagree with the second one – I interpret the movement like this ..

Hi Andrè, I am really looking forward to watching your presentation about
animation –

All best,

Stefan

Thank you Adam,

with Stefan early response and your detailed response, I could work during
the last hours and I will be able to complete several hours of work tomorrow
on these matters.

Can you confirm that the following expressions are equivalent?

thanks again.

To answer your first question, as Stefan so quickly replied to, yes these
are all used. They do not mean the same thing, however. Before I get into
the first set, which is talking about rotations, I will explain the arrows
themselves. I’m sure you know the circle arrows below:

=D50x50_M24x26S2e400n14xn16>
<http://www.signbank.org/signpuddle2.0/glyphogram.php?font=png1&size=1&panel
=D50x50_M24x26S2e800n7xn16>

Notice how the first one is on the wall plane. The second is a vertical
circle that is intercepting with the floor plane and wall plane. Now let’s
break these circles into quarter arrows. We get this configuration:

=D50x75_M25x41S2a603n23xn19S2b700n5xn31S2c605n4x6S2ad0010xn3>

As you notice, several of the arrows that you asked about are in the
vertical circle broken into quarters. Do you see how they are different now?

Now let’s go back to your first set, the rotations. Imagine your arm
rotating on a axis along the rotation line moving in the direction of the
arrows. They are not the same either.

=D63x90_M31x44S2c300n10xn34S2d205n18x10S2b1004xn7S2aa03n31xn18>

Now your next question asks how do you know if the rotation is by 90 or 180
degrees. You don’t really know from the symbol themselves. They weren’t
meant to be that specific because most people don’t usually see a difference
in mean by that much. If someone wishes to make that distinction clear, they
can write the before and after handshape. It is for this reason that you
will not usually see 1A.

For 6 and 7, I will use the wall plane equivalent to show how the movement
is on the vertical plane that intercepts the wall and floor plane. Imagine
that the arrow is moving away from you rather than moving across and you
will have the correct movement.

Hello,
I would like to know if the following symbols from 1-A to 4-A are still in
usage or if they are replaced by 1-B to 4-B?

In 5, how do I know if the hand rotates by 90 degrees or 180 degrees?
In 6, does the sign Forward Under Under has a small backward movement?

In 7, I do not understand the Forward-over-Under symbol. What is the
sequence of direction changes?

Thanks
André Lemyre
