[Sw-l] SignWriting Software 2015 and other new developments

Dear SignWriting List Members:

Behind the scenes, very quietly, work on SignWriting continues daily in software development, literature writing, in education, and in research. I am trying to create a short summary of new work that is happening right now in 2015...

Below is recent information I have received from some SignWriting software developers…


SIGNWRITING SOFTWARE … New programs and software improvements slated for 2015

Steve Slevinski is working on new software for 2015 that will run on all web browsers, and on all Apple devices, such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod. Using the new SignWriting TrueType Fonts, the software will be able to be downloaded and used directly on computer desktops and Apple devices without the internet or a server. Plus it will also coordinate with the new SignPuddle 3 online when that is ready too… I do not know when this will be ready, but this is work ongoing … thank you, Steve ;-)

Jonathan Duncan, developer of SignWriter Studio, www.SignWriterStudio.com <http://www.signwriterstudio.com/>, has been making improvements and additions. I hope more people will try Jonathan’s software - there are some really cool features - it is for Windows - thank you, Jonathan, for your ongoing work -

Yair Rand is developing a keyboard for typing SignWriting, which is useful on the web, for example, for writing sign language articles in Wikipedia - This is a major gift and will really impact SignWriting’s use in the future - thank you, Yair ...

I am sure there are other developers making improvements and adding new software in SignWriting…

For example what are the new developments in Avatar research?…

and for ongoing projects such as the DELEGS software in Germany and SWift software in Italy?…
