[Sw-l] Should the SW List remain open to the public unmoderated?

Hi Val,

I agree with Adam, Ingvild and perhaps most of our sw-list members.

Do not worry about the few spam mails. Keep focused on what we all are
interested in - to have a forum where we can discuss SIFBWRITING ... smile

All best

Stefan

I agree with Ingvild. I honestly haven’t even noticed any messages because
they went straight to my spam folder. I had to look in there and see why you
mentioned there were some messages. You are right, they are strange
messages. I’m glad I didn't have to see them. Ha!

On another note, I hope everyone had a good new year.

Adam

ignore. If they do become top many we would have to come up with a codeword
in the topic to know it is something we want to read and share. If in the
future another natural moderator should arise we might return to the
qustion.

message. All messages are supposed to relate to SignWriting or to writing
sign languages, or other related topics, such as sign language linguistics,
Deaf Education and research
and to date, I have been really happy to see how
we have had very few people break that unspoken rule

by Valencia College in Florida, and it appears that the only other solution
is for us to make the SignWriting List “moderated”, which would mean that I
would have to review every message before it is posted, and I do not want to
do that
I am afraid it will be less friendly, and people will not be so
happy because their messages will not post immediately and in my situation I
cannot promise when I will have the time to moderate the messages..

open and free
to join without moderation
and we can hope that the commercial entities who
have been abusing the List will learn that they should not post messages off
topic.
