Hi Charles!
I am glad to hear about this new project. Congratulations on your enrollment at Howard University, and thank you also for choosing SignWritng as a part of your project there...

SignWriting is used as a part of the curriculum in teaching sign language in Brazil and Portugal, and there are other countries too...Do you want the links to those schools? Since you know Brazil so well, you might have more contacts than I do...

But for Portugal, I would suggest writing to Rafaela Cota Silva, who is teaching SignWriting at a university in Portugal...

I am not sure if "certification" is a part of these courses...They are teaching people SignWriting, as a part of their education as sign language teachers and sign language interpreters, but I am not so sure it involves certification or not...
