[Sw-l] Simple way of writing repeated words?

Hello Ruben, Adam and everyone -

Thank you so much for your message below. I also tried to paste at the very bottom of this email, the original message from Adam, that was really asking for a "short way to hand write" the repeated motion within vertical Lanes ... so I think we are mixing two different issues - "formal publishing of sign literature" and handwriting or shorthand...

I brought up "publishing in formal SignWriting", which is what the Movement Clusters are used for, simply to point out the differences between handwriting and formal writing... part of the reason that the Movement Clusters work for formal publishing is that SignWriting is used to write many different sign languages in over 40 countries, not just ASL and LIBRAS, so the Movement Clusters give us visual information as to exactly what is happening, which means that foreigners to a sign language can read the exact movements quickly at a visual glance... it enhances reading. 

When we hand write we want to have a quicker way to write things like repeated motion, and I agree the two lines look like an easy way to shorten for quick writing... We need to write a book on SW Handwriting techniques and this could be a part of that book...

I think the research work of Deborah Campos Wanderley and Marianne Rossi Stumpf is very important and I do not want anyone to stop working on research - and of course go right ahead and write as you feel is best for your language. It is important that the next generations move forward with new ideas ;-)

So here is an interesting question - As more and more people write by hand, will it influence the formal writing style used when publishing?

I have noticed some shortcuts that are happening around the world, and this is clearly one of them -

Adam - how do you feel about this? And actually your original question was referring to handwriting placement in Lanes - will the little lines work in handwriting in Lanes?

Take the following sentence for example. The sign for bowl is repeated in three different locations to show three different bowls.
