SignWriting List
October 11, 2022

Hello Professor Rubens and SignWriting List members,

Thank you for participating in the SW Vocabulary List project…

So happy to see LIBRAS signs as well.

So we now have 4 sign languages...

ASL
DGS
LIBRAS
LSC

Wonderful! I am running a little behind, but I hope to really focus on this by tomorrow. But I will post a new question about a new sign next...

Val ;-)

PS. This project is dear to my heart, because years ago, back in the early 1980s, I worked in both the US and Denmark. SignWriting was a part of the Danish School System from 1982 until 1988. At that time, we started a little project between the two sign languages, Danish Sign Language and American Sign Language. It was a quatri-lingual dictionary: DSL, ASL, English and Danish. We were very happy with the project, but it never was finished. It was before the development of the internet, personal computers and cell phones. Maybe some of that vocabulary can be added to our new project later…
