Tribute to James Shepard-Kegl
James Shepard-Kegl touched thousands, if not millions on the internet with his publications … He was a pioneer daring to reach out to the world of education in new ways. One of those pioneering efforts, which he dedicated much time on, was writing Nicaraguan Sign Language, and because of James and Judy Shepard-Kegl, there are now libraries of written literature in Nicaraguan Sign Language available on the web.
So this is my beginning of paying tribute to our dear friend James Shepard-Kegl, who passed away this week. All who knew James are devastated at such an enormous loss, as am I, and I am determined to create a new library online for ALL of his publications in written Nicaraguan Sign Language. As I post more and more of his documents, I will keep you informed.
For now, I leave you with a link to a video presentation James made at our SignWriting Symposium 2015. It is on YouTube.
God bless you, dear James - you are so sorely missed and will forever be remembered.
