I just found several postings I had not seen before…

You may recognize Sutton as the inventor of Sutton SignWriting, used to write sign languages. In fact, SignWriting evolved from DanceWriting, after a Danish linguist and sign language researcher suggested the idea to her. Very early versions of SignWriting featured staff lines.
