We are pleased to announce that the 50th International Conference on Sino-Tibetan Languages and Linguistics (ICSTLL 50) will be held in Beijing Xiangshan (Fragrant Hill) Hotel, China 13-16 October 2017.

The conference is hosted by Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Call for papers (Deadline: 1 June 2017)
We invite submission of abstracts for papers covering all aspects of linguistic research on Sino-Tibetan and other area languages. This encompasses descriptions of phonetics & phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse studies, semantics & pragmatics, language documentation and typology, field reports of recently researched languages, as well as the consequences of contact with languages belonging to other linguistic families are invited for submission.

Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words in a 12-point, unicode-compliant font, and should be written in English or Chinese. Authors should take care to remove self-identifying references so that the abstract may be properly reviewed. Abstracts should be submitted online in pdf format using Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icstll50 <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icstll50>).
The deadline for abstract submission is 1st June 2017.

We are also accepting applications for pre-conference workshops. Please send a summary of the topic and suggested participants to  icstll50 at 163.com <mailto:icstll50 at 163.com>.

Important dates:
1 June 2017:            deadline for submission of abstracts
15 July 2017:           notification of acceptance of paper
1 September 2017:  deadline for early-bird registration at the discounted rate

Registration will open on the 1st of May; links to register will be available on the conference website.

Registration fee:

     Students: US $70 or RMB ¥400 (Chinese Yuan)

     Regular: US $130 or RMB ¥800 (Chinese Yuan)
