Dear Linguists/Researchers/Students,


We are pleased to announce that a three-day national conference on the Indigenous and lesser studied languages (ILSL) of the North East India will be held from October 29th to 31st, 2019 at Tezpur University, Assam, India. The Conference is organized by the Centre for Endangered Languages at the University to commemorate the year of Indigenous Languages announced by UNESCO.

We invite papers in all areas of research on various linguistic themes including but not limited to syntax, morphology, phonetics and phonology, cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, computational linguistics, semantics, language education, language acquisition and learning, bi/multilingualism, discourse analysis, pluriliteracy, inter-cultural and globalisation, language endangerment, capacity building, revitalization etc. 

Abstracts are invited from students/scholars/researchers and teachers who have been mainly working on lesser studied languages of Northeast including the state of Sikkim for 15 mins presentation and 5 mins discussion. Abstracts should not be more than 500 words including references. The general text should be typed in Times New Roman 12 font size and data must be represented by using IPA fonts in Unicode.
