[Tibeto-burman-linguistics] ***South Asian Languages Analysis Roundtable in Venice (4-7 October 2023)***

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the 37th South Asian Languages Analysis
Roundtable (SALA-37) will take place on *October 4-7, 2023 at Ca’ Foscari
University of Venice*, Italy, with a *March 31st 2023 deadline for
abstracts* (Notification of Acceptance: May 10, 2023 ).

We invite submissions in any area related to the field of South Asian
languages and linguistics, addressing, but not limited to, the following
topics:

   -

   Descriptive studies
   -

   Comparative and typological studies
   -

   Language contact
   -

   Sociolinguistics
   -

   Morphology and Syntax
   -

   Semantics and Pragmatics
   -

   Phonetics and Phonology
   -

   Historical linguistics and philology
   -

   Computational linguistics
   -

   Corpus and quantitative linguistic studies
   -

   Language acquisition
   -

   Language policies
   -

   Endangerment of minority languages

Presentations will last 20 minutes (5 min. for discussion, and 5 min. for
speaker and room changes).


Submission instructions

Please send your abstract to sala.conference.37 at gmail.com no later than March
31, 2023. All abstracts should adhere to the following guidelines:

   -

   Anonymity: abstracts should be anonymous and any identifying information
   (i.e. names of the presenters, their affiliations or addresses) must be
   removed;
   -

   Length: 1 page excluding examples, tables and references;
   -

   Format: abstracts should be submitted in PDF format;
   -

   Preferred session: authors should indicate in their abstract whether
   they wish to present their paper in the general session or in the
   co-organized workshop Complex verb constructions in Indo-Aryan and beyond,
   convenors Eystein Dahl (UiT - The Arctic University of Norway) and Beatrice
   Grieco (Università per stranieri di Siena); description at the link

Notification of acceptance/rejection will be given by May 10, 2023.


Registration will open on May 11, 2023 upon a registration fee of 70 euros
(full) / 30 euros (reduced).
