[Tibeto-burman-linguistics] Prof. Mei Tsu-lin

Hi All,
I just got the sad news that Prof. Mei Tsu-lin passed away. He was 90 years old. Here is an obituary and an account of his last day. Not sure who wrote either one of these documents, as they were sent to me from the Li Fang-kuei memorial society without details.The obituary mentions he was born in Beijing, but doesn’t say where in Beijing. He told me he was born on the campus of Yen Ching University, which is now the campus of Peking University.

Prof. Mei didn’t do Tibeto-Burman linguistics, but many of you might have met him at conferences. He mainly worked on historical grammar of Chinese.
