Finno-Ugrian Society 125 years (&c)

Dear All,

the Finno-Ugrian Society celebrates its 125th anniversary with two
seminars in Helsinki:

- on Saturday, 15th November, at the Museum of Cultures in Helsinki ("From
field expeditions to scholarly knowledge", including the opening of the
exhibition "In Castren's boots")

- on Tuesday, 2th November, in the Main Building of the University of
Helsinki ("Network of the Finno-Ugrian language community").

The programmes of both symposia (in Finnish) can be found at

celebrations, the Society also announces the publication of a new work
presenting hte history of the Society: "Aatteen tiede.
Suomalais-Ugrilainen Seura 1883–2008" by Timo Salminen.
