> The School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Language Acquisition and Language Socialisation whose duties will be in teaching, research, and administration.

> Applicants should hold a PhD in Linguistics or related discipline. Their research should focus on first/second language acquisition and socialisation involving at least one Asian or African language. Additional expertise in discourse analysis and/or anthropological linguistics and/or pragmatics and/or multilingualism is desirable. Also required are the ability to supervise PhD students, a strong research background as evidenced by an excellent publication record, and a strong record of teaching experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills, an ability to work independently in an organised and methodical manner, and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential. The appointee will be expected to work closely with staff and students in the Department of Linguistics, including the Endangered Languages Academic Programme, and the Endangered Languages Archive.
