[Ura-list] László Vikár in memoriam

[Johanna Laakso]

Dear URA-LIST community,

from Hungary, the sad news have reached us of the passing of László Vikár, the renowned ethnomusicologist known to many of us especially for his invaluable research and documentation work with the music of the peoples of the Volga region. He has now joined our dear deceased colleague Gábor Bereczki, who cooperated with him in recording, editing and publishing innumerable lovely folksongs of Finno-Ugric and Turkic peoples. 

As shown below in the announcements kindly forwarded to us by Márta Csepregi, his funeral mass will take place on 2nd June in Budapest.
