Dear Colleagues,
the application deadline of the tenure track position for Hungarian literature at the University of Vienna has now been postponed to February 25. Please feel free to forward this information to anybody who might be interested and has the required qualifications: PhD in literature studies (with research focus on Hungarian literature), at least two years of academic postdoc experience, and an interest to lead and continue developing one of the best and most successful programmes of Hungarian studies in a city famous for its high quality of life.
The successful candidate is hired as “Assistant professor” for a maximum duration of six years. If the candidate meets the conditions stipulated in the qualification agreement, the assistant professor is promoted to tenured “associate professor”, i.e. obtains a permanent position. If the conditions are not met, the employment will end upon expiry of the contract. Associate professors can be promoted to “full professor” through a university-internal competitive procedure.
Applicants need not know German, but the successful candidate will be expected to acquire a sufficient proficiency of German within three years.
