Dear URA-LIST Community,

50 years ago the chair of Finno-Ugric studies at the University of Vienna, first held by Károly Rédei, was founded. Since then, a lot of water has flown in the Danube. We are looking back to our half-century of growing into one of the hubs of international cooperation in Finno-Ugric and Hungarian studies, and, above all, we are looking forward to new challenges.

To celebrate all this, we invite all interested colleagues to our two-day event in Vienna on May 27-28. You will find the programme at https://finno-ugristik.univie.ac.at/ueber-uns/50-jahre/ .

If you cannot be physically present but would like to follow the talks and panel discussions online, we can live-stream them. Please contact jeremy.moss.bradley at univie.ac.at <mailto:jeremy.moss.bradley at univie.ac.at> for a link.

On Tuesday evening, our event will end with a reception provided by the three Finno-Ugric embassies. For security reasons, we have not made this information or the registration link publicly accessible, but if you are coming to Vienna and would like to conclude the conference with informal discussions in a nice company with Hungarian wine, Estonian beer and some Finnish delicacies, please feel free to contact me for further information.

Looking forward to meeting you either virtually or, hopefully, in person
jl
