Dear colleagues,

Let me attract your attention to the workshop 'The social context of language change in Uralic languages' that we are organising at the Kielitieteen päivät to be held in Helsinki May 12-14.

The workshop is intended as a forum for the exchange of ideas and research results pertaining to the social context of change and change in its social context in less numerous Uralic languages and in the Uralic past. We hope to bring together representatives of both synchronic and diachronic language research for their mutual benefit.

300-word abstracts need to be submitted via the conference website by February 27.
We welcome abstracts in English, Finnish, or Swedish, the three official languages of the conference.
