Dear John,
the protocol of the parliamentary discussion does not report much of the
details, but check it yourself unter
LOK SABHA Bulletin Monday, December 22, 2003/Pausa 1, No. 350 - check
paragraph 23 "The Constitution (One-hundredth Amendment) Bill, 2003.
(Amendment of Eighth Schedule)"

The Rajya Sabha protocol is a bit more conclusive

A small article on the issue "Welcome More Languages to the Constitution
Club" had made me aware of the issue recently:

There is probably more in the Indian press.

Dear Members,
Happy New Year to all!
I had a quick question that maybe someone on the list can help me out
with.
A friend of mine in India has written me that on December 22, 2003, the
Loksabha and Rajyasabha both approved of including four new scheduled
languages: Bodo, Dogri, Maithili and Santali.
Could anyone point me to a page somewhere where I can read up on this?
Many thanks!
John
