Limited Term Appointment in Credit English as a Second Language
The Department of Education at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for one limited-term appointment in the Credit English as a Second Language (ESL) program.  Applicants must hold a graduate degree in Applied Linguistics or a related field with evidence of training in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).  Expertise in ESL academic writing instruction, pronunciation instruction, course coordination (including organization of item writing and instructor norming sessions for common exams), and materials development is required.  Responsibilities include teaching and coordinating one level of Credit ESL, mentoring MA students teaching credit courses, training writing assistants for tutorials associated with ESL courses, serving on the ESL Curriculum Committee, and developing teaching materials for coursepacks and for online delivery.
Applications should consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy/interests, and evidence of teaching effectiveness.

This position is subject to budgetary approval and department/unit need. Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be reappointed, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent reappointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years. They are normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2018 and ending May 14, 2019. Successful candidates will normally be expected to teach three courses per semester.  Candidates applying for a subsequent appointment are considered first.
