My M-W '2nd Int.' has a stack of books on it which I don't
want to move right now, but a 1953 M-W NEW COLLEGIATE
gives the following:

=====================================
DEE-poh
(esp. mil. and Brit.) DEHP-oh

1. A place of deposit for goods; a storehouse.
2. U.S. A railroad station.
3. Mil.
  a. A place of deposit for supplies.
  b. A station where recruits are assembled and trained.
