Pecan Pie (1924)

Thanks to Barry Popik for the earlier quote for pecan pie.  I am still
surprised at its late date (1924-5).  I spent some considerable time
combing the collection of cookbooks at the CIA [Culinary Institute of
America] and found nothing earlier than 1931.  In light of the fact
that pecan is such a well established term in the 1700's, one might
think pecan pie would be earlier, wouldn't one?
