Nebraskans/Standard English

As one who was born and grew up in Lincoln NE, I'm not sure just what this
Nebraskan accent is. There was a fair amount of variation in the speech I
heard around me as a child.  Some people, e.g., said "crick," others said
"creek,"
I said "warsh" for wash.  Is that Standard American?  I don't know.  At
some point I realized that "the rest of the world" said "wash" and made an
effort to suppress that /r/.
