1671 Joseph Glanvill _A praefatory answer to Mr. Henry Stubbe_ Preface  I
confess therefore that he is a man that hath READ; he was for some years
_Sub-librarian_ at _Oxford_.

1701 Herman Moll _A system of geography: or, a new & accurate description
of the earth in all its empires, kingdoms and states_ 36  The _Library_ is
furnish'd already with Books, to almost the number of 4000, and will daily
encrease by an annual Salary of 116 _l. per Ann._ settl'd upon it for that
purpose, and for the maintenance of a Librarian.
