"blue"(English)=obscene. Why "green" in Spanish?

What other instances of "verde" or "green" have you seen in Spanish?

P.S. Everyone I knew back in Texas would say fore-head. I thought forrid
was a Brtishism, like hoggarts for Hogwarts.
