Fwd: the use of "my"

This is a query from a local reporter who I've corresponded with in
the past.  He's quite good about giving full credit and not
misquoting, so I recommend interacting with him if any of you have
something useful to suggest.  I'm in the middle of a bunch of
deadlines and don't have anything off the top of my head to point him
to, but I figure someone else out there must have thought about this
"my".  (I haven't checked Language Log to see if this has come up
there.  Ben? Arnold?)
